About the Artist

My becoming an artist wasn't so much a choice as an inevitable destination. No matter what I set out to do, I found myself creating. Over the decades, I've worn many hats within the creative arena. Ive been a commercial logo designer, brand developer, graphic designer, art director, muralist and professional painter doing high end finishes in both homes and businesses. Ive also passionately pursued humanitarian endeavors; the first being a project called Athletes with Heart where I created a 5' x 7" portrait of Muhammad Ali which he signed along with 250 lithographs to raise money for Parkinson's disease.  The second was The Trouble with the Alphabet, which I call "my heart and soul project".

The Trouble with the Alphabet is a coffee table book which uses art, poetry, essays, and reputable NGOs in an effort to illuminate the many human rights issues facing children globally in a powerful and provocative manner. In the process of bringing this to fruition, I became a public speaker doing over 150 speaking engagements across the US.

Though I attended the Pasadena Art Center to study Advertising and Graphics, everything to do with painting has been self taught. And though I have been doing commissioned work for over thirty years, it has only been in the last three years that I've settled into my role as a full time "artist" producing acrylic paintings on canvas. My humanitarian drive is still at the core of who I am, waiting for the next opportunity to make a difference. In the meantime, I'll continue to pour my talent into each blank canvas I place on my easel.

While I have lived all over the US and Canada, I currently live in Fort Collins CO with the youngest of my three kids.
